कल्पवृक्ष अभिलाषाओं की पूर्ति करता है, लेकिन लकड़ी ही तो है। सुमेरू पर्वत धन का भण्डार है, लेकिन है तो पत्थरों का ढेर। चिन्तामणि चिन्ता-हरण करती है, लेकिन वह भी पत्थर है। सूर्य की किरणें प्रकाशवान हैं, लेकिन प्रचण्ड हैं। चन्द्रमा शीतलता और प्रकाश प्रदान करता है, लेकिन वह क्षय रोग से पीड़ित है।

समुद्र खारे जल वाला और कामदेव अशरीर है। बलि राक्षस कुल से संबद्ध है और सभी इच्छाओं की पूर्ति करने वाली कामधेनु एक पशु ही तो है। हे ईश्वर, इनमें से कोई भी आपकी तरह महान नहीं। किसी को भी आपके तुल्य नहीं रखा जा सकता। अर्थात् जगत् में ईश्वर सर्वोपरि है।

स्वाभाविक दोष वे दोष हैं, जिन्हें कहीं बाहर से ग्रहण नहीं करना पड़ता, बल्कि वे स्वतः ही जन्म से आविर्भूत होते हैं। पक्षी स्वभाव और जन्म से ही उड़ने में निपुण होते हैं। अग्नि का स्वभाव जलाना है, जल शीतलता प्रदान करता है।

यह आवश्यक नहीं कि प्रत्येक स्त्री के स्वभाव में उपर्युक्त दोष उपलब्ध हों। भोजन में योग्य स्वादिष्ट व्यंजन और उन्हें ग्रहण करने का सामर्थ्य, रूपवान स्त्री और भोग-विलास की शक्ति, विपुल धन और दानशीलता, ऐसे गुण घोर तप अथवा पूर्व जन्म के सुफलों के परिणामस्वरूप ही प्राप्त हो सकते हैं।

विषहीन सर्प को भी रक्षा के लिए फन फैलाना ही पड़ता है।

संसार रूपी इस वृक्ष के अमृत के समान दो फल हैं- सुन्दर बोलना तथा सज्जनों की संगति करना।

जिस पिता का पुत्र आज्ञाकारी हो, पत्नी अनुकूल आचरण वाली और पतिव्रता हो, जो मेहनत से प्राप्त धन से ही संतुष्ट हो, ऐसा व्यक्ति इस संसार में ही स्वर्ग-सा सुख अनुभव करता है। अर्थात् संतोषी सदा सुखी।

जो पुत्र माता-पिता का आज्ञाकारी और भक्त हो, वही पुत्र कहलाने का अधिकारी है।
